Answer. |

Dear professional woman, Watch out, the MenoMonsters™ are coming! That’s right, premenopause, and the dreaded menopause, are about to begin. If you’re over 35, you’re probably looking for a good place to hide. But where do you find information on what to expect? I don’t mean clinical information about hormone replacement therapy. I’m talking about relief from the symptoms with helpful but fun information. |
| Do you recognize any of these symptoms? | ||
| • Joint aches and pain | • “Gotta Go Right Now” | • Little or no sex drive |
| • Cold feet and hands | • Unexplainable fatigue | • Weight gain |
| • Night sweats | • Migraine headaches | • Sleep problems |
| • Allergies | • Enlarged breasts | • Dry skin |
| • Sudden emotions | • Loss of focus | • Fibroids |
| • Pounding heart | • Hot flashes | • Irregular periods |
|
Each symptom might be associated with premenopause or menopause. The symptoms could start as early as your mid 30’s and go through your late 60’s. If you struggle with menopause symptoms, you may have a tendency to take yourself and your circumstances too seriously. Do you find it difficult, if not impossible, to “lighten up”? Discovering the lighter side of life is absolutely essential. Learn to take it easy, read a fun book, go to the movies, walk in the park, or maybe even just do nothing for an afternoon. Health requires a sense of balance. Life can be so intense. |

Looking for “The
Joy of Menopause”©?
|
|
One afternoon while visiting with a few
friends over a cup of coffee, the topic turned to menopause symptoms. What was always considered a hush-hush
topic and something you “only” discussed with a doctor,
was now the source I looked for a book about the “Joy of Menopause” © but found instead that over 55 million women are currently experiencing the journey of this mid-life change. I decided then and there that I wanted to help bring laughter (and comfort) to an issue that is rarely discussed outside of a clinical environment. You may not have a choice when it comes to menopause, but you do have a choice when it comes to attitude. I know it’s difficult to remain positive when you’re dealing with hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings. But now you can laugh at yourself and poke fun at these frustrating and sometimes unbearable symptoms. After all, laughter is the best form of medicine. |

Adventures In Menopause

Adventures In Menopause is a fun-filled book about surviving menopause. I take a humorous approach to this biological mid-life change by describing symptoms with a poem and comical name. Instead of “night sweats”, I call this wet symptom “Naggy Night Sweats”©. Instead of “unexplained fatigue”, I call it “Frazzly Fatigue”©. Instead of “leaky bladder”, I call it “Urgent Uri”©. I’ve also added colorful cartoon illustrations to the poems, word search puzzles, and Woman-to-Woman hints. Even if you’re just approaching your mid 30’s or you’ve already survived the menopause perils, Adventures In Menopause is perfect entertainment for when you need a good laugh. Adventures In Menopause includes:

| “I love this book so much,
I bought one for my Mother (age 54) and my Grand-Mother (age 81). I’m only 34 but I’ve already experienced
many of these(premenopausal) symptoms, like: weight gain, night sweats, irregular periods,
fatigue, and feeling down in the dumps. Now I know what it is and I can
laugh about it. I love this new perspective on “the change”. I want
all of my girl friends to have it, so we can all sit around and laugh about it. Adventures In
Menopause is on the top of my gift list.”

My hope for you…
|
| Now, don’t get frazzled, flighty, or lose
focus. Stay with me. I know you have other things to do, like find your lost libido with a compass. So
I’ll make this quick. If you’ve read this far, read
a little further.
“One morning I stopped at a local health food store for some green tea and a scone. As I sat sipping my tea and writing some of the poems in this book, an elderly man appeared at my table. Excusing himself for interrupting, he said that he couldn’t help noticing that I was enjoying what I was doing because every few minutes I spontaneously laughed out loud, arousing his curiosity. Without knowing any details he went on to say that if what I was writing could make others smile as it did me that he hoped I would share my work.” (excerpt from the preface of Adventures In Menopause) Many people, like this stranger, have motivated and inspired me to release this book. My hope is that it will give you relief from symptoms, peace of mind and many laugh-out-loud moments. Here’s to the real-life Adventures In Menopause. Keep Smiling, Jayne Jayne L. Garrett P.S. At this point, you might think to yourself “Ahh, how cute. That’s a great book for Aunt Jo.” Now stop and think about yourself for a moment. When was the last time you sat down and passed the time reading poems and doing word search puzzles? That’s what I thought. Take it from me, a recovering serious person, it’s time to laugh. It’s time to create some space just for you to slow down long enough to laugh-out-loud. The time is now. Your guide is Adventures In Menopause. |
